Alzheimer’s / Memory Care

The Center is founded on a cutting-edge, but very simple philosophy called the Eden Alternative. (Click Here for more information about Eden)Its premise is to surround people with life, plants, pets, children, social opportunities and a sense of purpose.  By doing so, we believe they will live better, longer and happier lives.  The Episcopal Church Home has implemented this philosophy on a groundbreaking scale, incorporating it into every aspect of the Center, from the very design of the building to the assembling of its care giving staff.

Personal Care residents in each of the neighborhoods live in individual apartments with private baths.  Clusters of apartments adjoin common living rooms, family-style kitchens and dining rooms.  The familiarity and home-like atmosphere of this design concept contributes to resident’s feelings of acceptance, well-being and purpose.  For every cluster of homes, staff members trained specifically to deal with the needs of memory-impaired residents employ a program of care based on particular needs and abilities of the residents.  Residents whose medical condition requires more intensive nursing services can reside in the Marmion Wing, adjacent to the Memory Care Center’s East Neighborhood.

Services offered are as follows:

  • 24-Hour care & assistance—licensed personal care (East & West Neighborhoods); nursing & skilled nursing (Marmion Wing)
